MOJU is dedicated to helping our customers build healthier habits and kickstart their day with powerful nutrition. To support in our mission we're looking for a Technical Manager to cover a Maternity Leave for a period of 9-12 months. 

 

Job Description. 

Lead the technical strategy to ensure safety and compliance to regulations, whilst delivering market leading quality across all MOJU products  

 

In your role as Technical Manager, you will report to the Supply Chain & Operations Director and be responsible for strengthening MOJU’s category leading quality, developing and maintaining the quality management system (QMS) and risk management. You will also be the subject matter expert on relevant legislation to safeguard and support the business regarding on pack information, marketing content, customer requirements and consumer led queries for existing markets and new markets. 

 

Management 

  • You'll manage our newly hired Food Technologist; coaching and guiding their career within MOJU. As a manager you'll offer the very best of advise, lead from the front and support where needed

 

Strengthening MOJU’s Category Leading Quality  

  • Deliver quality led KPI’s across complaints and product quality 

  • Complaints resolution management using root cause analysis and ensuring effective corrective actions at our third-party manufacturer 

  • Manage positive release process and ensuring any non-compliant quality is investigated and actioned accordingly 

  • Lead all EPD and NPD activity  

  • Maintain the quality & technical strategy 

 

Supplier Management 

  • End-to-end technical & quality responsibility for all live products at our third-party manufacturers, including KPI management  

  • Manage existing third-party manufacturer and third-party logistic partners, perform yearly customer audits and build strong, strategic partnerships aimed at developing a continuous improvement culture to strengthen MOJU’s category leading quality 

  • Ensuring supplier certification standards (i.e BRCGS, GLOBALGAP etc.) are maintained across 3PMs / 3PLs / ingredient suppliers and any non-conformances actioned accordingly 

  • Lead the authenticity, vulnerability and fraud risk management for all ingredients used in MOJU products in conjunction with third-party manufacturer 

  • Sign off and approve due diligence, safety and compliance for new ingredient suppliers at our co-manufacturer 

  • Maintain due diligence & quality framework for direct ingredient sourcing 

 

Developing & Maintaining MOJU’s QMS 

  • Maintain the QMS program and introduce further recommendations to enhance quality and reduce risk 

  • Ensure all product specifications are accurate, kept up to date and any change briefed across the business and into customers 

 

Compliance & Risk Management 

  • Responsible for food safety and legislative compliance of products and packaging from factory through to our consumers 

  • Lead and manage all non-conformances at our co-manufacturer including appropriate corrective action and resolution 

  • Manage and coordinate due diligence testing program to ensure all health and nutrition claims are compliant 

  • Build a network of contacts and information sources to be the subject matter expert on all current and future legislation that could impact MOJU products, packaging and communications 

  • Supporting the Project Manager to ensure that all food safety and legislative aspects of NPD/EPD are compliant 

  • Lead and own the incident management process identifying product issues, managing Rejections and Recalls in partnership with relevant stakeholders including testing the process and training as required 

 

Supporting the MOJU Cru 

  • Support with technical and legislative guidance on all marketing content and consumer related queries working with one pilot to keep customer macros up to date and accurate 

  • Support all new line form content for new customer opportunities 

  • Championing quality to the wider business including reporting to the leadership team 

  • Support all product related training to engage and bring insight to current and new members of the Cru 

 

Packaging and artwork compliance 

  • Responsible for ensuring the food safety and legislative compliance for new products in existing and new markets

Job requirements

You will have 

  • Food science/technology qualification to degree standard 

  • 5-10 years of experience in Food & Drink technical roles 

  • Internal audit or lead auditor trained 

  • HACCP level 4 

  • Management of third-party suppliers’ technical relationship 

  • Extensive experience in packaging artwork development & sign off 

  • Experience in running multiple projects with various disciplines and dependencies, including product and sustainability 

  • Pragmatic technical approach and entrepreneurial mindset 

  • Excellent communication and people skills (line management preferred) 

  • Confident, self-starter, able to work effectively in cross-functional teams
